Pop Up Screens brings outdoor cinema to Greenwich

Al fresco film specialists Pop Up Screens take over East Greenwich Pleasaunce on the 26th and 27th September

Outdoor cinema company Pop Up Screens will be showing two classic films 'al fresco' in East Greenwich Pleasaunce. The first screening on the 26th will be the Steven Spielberg-backed 80s adventure-comedy The Goonies, while the following night sees the Pleasaunce play host to the much-loved Forrest Gump; a film that boasts an Academy Award-winning performance from Tom Hanks.

The audience will watch the film on a monster 30ft screen, alongside a licensed bar, cinema-style popcorn and sweets, and gourmet burgers. Pop Up Screens founder David Leydon promises "a special atmosphere you won’t find at any multiplex… as you’re in a park, with your friends and hundreds of other people that love that movie as much as you do."

As well as bringing their super size screen to East Greenwich Pleasaunce, Pop Up Screens will pop up at other parks across London, including in Blackheath and Lewisham. Screenings start at around 8.30pm, and tickets can be purchased for £10 at www.popupscreens.co.uk. A Weekender Pass allowing you to see all the films at any one location are priced at £24.
